Morning sharing – 10/12/18

Mr. Cotton: Good morning, everyone.

Ailsa: Good morning principal, teachers and fellow students. I’m Alisa from 4A.

Mr. Cotton: Now Ailsa, I just wanted to ask you a question. What are you doing this coming Saturday?

Ailsa: That’s easy! I’m coming to school to join the Academic Carnival.

Mr. Cotton: Wow! What a coincidence. I’m doing that too. Let’s tell the students some more about it.

Ailsa: On that day, there will be different game booths in the hall. I know the Liberal Studies Department will have a booth on Hong Kong law.

Mr. Cotton:  Sounds interesting. I heard that the Humanities Department will have booths about upcycling of waste and on how to live a green life. We should also visit their booths and learn how to help our environment.

Ailsa: Apart from that, there will also be a chance to try your hand at Chinese calligraphy in the hall. What else will be going on Mr. Cotton?

Mr. Cotton: Mr. Pang will be running some different games in the DT Room and there will be computer activities in Room 602. The computer activities will be about how to make a computer game.

Ailsa: As well as this, the Science Department will open their laboratory and conduct some experiments. Also, Mak Hei Wah from 4B will be performing a traditional Chinese drama and the Visual Arts Department will be having face painting in the VA Room.

Mr. Cotton:  Oh! I just remembered that the PE Department will be having some physical activities such as table tennis and they will also be using the exercycles and rowing machines. There will also be a 3-on-3 basketball match.

Ailsa: There will also be some competitions on that day. There will be a Maths, Chinese and English competition for Primary 6 students, a Putonghua speaking contest and an English verse-speaking contest for primary students as well.

Mr. Cotton: I’m sure everyone will be so hungry after trying all these different activities. Will the students be able to get anything to eat?

Ailsa: Sure. There will be popcorn, chocolate milk and your favourite Mr. Cotton…. cotton candy.

Mr. Cotton: Mmmmm…. I can’t wait. Oh, I just remembered. Ms. Lam told me that there will be a Chinese snack too. I think it is called Tong But Luck.

Ailsa: Students will be able to eat these delicious snacks and then watch some of the shows in the hall. I know there is going to be a rope-skipping performance.

Mr. Cotton: Great! I always like watching them. Don’t forget that there will be performances from the Marching Band and the Dance Club as well.

Ailsa: Oh! One important thing I forgot to mention. When the students are doing the activities, they will have a passport. After they finish an activity, they will get a stamp. When the passport is full, they can take it to the hall and exchange it for some prizes.

Mr. Cotton: Sounds great! I’ll have to bring my son so he can try and win some prizes too.

Ailsa: Good idea. I know there will be balloon twisting as well. Balloons can be twisted to make different animals. I’m sure your son will like that.

Mr. Cotton: Definitely. So, everyone, don’t forget to come on Saturday and celebrate our school’s Academic Carnival and have a lot of fun at the same time.

Ailsa: See you on Saturday, everyone.
